Section 25
Research diary should be kept

(1) The police officer or investigating officer who conducts an investigation under this paragraph shall prepare an investigation diary in the format as per schedule-18 to record immediately every action taken by him in connection with the investigation.
(2) Such police officer or investigation officer shall record the following matters in the diary established as per sub-section (1):-
(a) The date, time and brief details of the notification of the offence,
(b) His work, actions,
in connection with the investigation (c) the place visited by him in the course of the investigation,
(d) Evidence, evidence and other necessary things obtained in the course of the investigation,
(e) details of any person arrested in connection with the investigation,
(f) the name, address of the person questioned by him in the course of the investigation and what he said in relation to the offence,
(g) the disposition of the person arrested or apprehended,
(h) Other relevant facts or information obtained in the course of the investigation.
(3) According to sub-section (1) ……. According to the needs of the established diary, the public prosecutor or the court can view the records.
(4) In relation to the contents mentioned in the diary established according to sub-section (1), an officer higher than the relevant investigation officer may, if he wishes, inspect and give necessary instructions regarding the investigation.
